Document and Contract Review

A read of what you have been asked to sign, in plain words, before you sign it. What it commits you to, what is missing, and what to push back on.

Back to Services

Most bad UAE contracts are not signed by careless people. They are signed by busy people who read a twenty page document once, understood most of it, and assumed the rest was standard. The clauses that cost money are rarely hidden. They are the ones that look ordinary: a governing law and forum that puts a dispute in another country, an automatic renewal with a notice period that has already passed by the time you notice it, a payment term that starts on acceptance rather than on delivery, an indemnity with no cap. We read the document and tell you in plain words what it commits you to, what it does not cover that it should, and which two or three points are worth pushing back on, separated from the ones that are not worth the relationship.

Abstract geometric line drawing: a document sheet with a fine reading rule crossing it and three clause marks, the middle mark in teal, gold hairlines on dark navy.

Key Features

  • A plain words summary of what the document actually obliges you to do, written to be read once rather than studied
  • The commercial exposures named specifically: liability caps or their absence, indemnities, termination rights, automatic renewal and notice, and payment triggers
  • Governing law and dispute forum checked, because a clause putting your dispute outside the UAE changes what enforcement costs you
  • What is missing flagged as well as what is present, since the absent clause is the one nobody negotiates
  • A short list of the points worth raising, ranked, and an honest note on which ones are not worth the friction

Benefits for Your Business

  • You know what you are signing before you sign it, in language you can act on.
  • The two or three clauses that matter separated from the twenty that do not.
  • A negotiating position rather than a list of concerns.
  • Turnaround fast enough to be useful, since a review that arrives after signing is a post mortem.
General information, not legal advice. A review tells you what a document says and where your exposure sits. Where a matter needs a legal opinion, representation or a filing before a UAE court, we say so and refer you on.
