Legal Notarisation

Powers of attorney, company documents and agreements notarised through the Ministry of Justice, the courts or a licensed private notary, including from abroad.

Back to Services

A great deal of UAE business cannot proceed until a document is notarised. A power of attorney, a memorandum of association, a board resolution appointing a manager, a local service agent agreement: each has to be executed in front of a notary before an authority, a bank or a court will act on it. There are three routes to that, being the Ministry of Justice notary public offices, the courts, and licensed private notaries, and the Ministry of Justice also runs a digital power of attorney service covering eight types including legal cases, real estate, rental disputes, licensing, vehicles, stocks and company management, which produces a ratified digital power of attorney without attending an office. Which route is available depends on the document. We work that out first, because the wrong route means doing it twice.

Abstract geometric line drawing: a document sheet beneath a descending press block, the point of contact marked by a small teal square, gold hairlines on dark navy.

Key Features

  • Route chosen for the document rather than by habit, across the Ministry of Justice notary public offices, the courts and licensed private notaries
  • Digital powers of attorney issued through the Ministry of Justice service where the document is one of the eight types it covers, which avoids an office visit entirely
  • Arabic drafting or bilingual drafting prepared before the appointment, since a notary acts on the Arabic text and a translation produced on the day is where appointments fail
  • Documents signed outside the UAE handled through the full chain, because a power of attorney executed abroad needs notarisation, legalisation and Arabic translation before it can be used here
  • You supply the document or the instruction, the passport or Emirates ID of every signatory, and the trade licence where a company is signing, which is what the notary will ask to see

Benefits for Your Business

  • One appointment rather than three, because the text and the identification are right before anyone attends.
  • A digital power of attorney where the law allows one, which is faster than any office.
  • Documents signed abroad brought into a form the UAE will accept, handled alongside attestation.
  • A notarised instrument a bank, a court or a licensing authority will actually act on.
General information, not legal advice. Notarisation routes, fees and the documents each notary requires are set by the Ministry of Justice, the courts of the relevant emirate and the licensing rules for private notaries, and they change. We confirm the current requirement before booking anything.
